At 5400 cubic inches (88 liters), the No. 4 is our largest Voyageur pack. Building on the idea of squared off corners from the No. 3.5, the No. 4 has a full gusset down each side to maximize space. This rectangular body shape lends itself to intuitive, flexible packing, and three internal pockets allow small items to be kept separate and easily accessible. You can expect to fit at least 3 people's belongings in this pack.
Made from a durable 1000 denier nylon treated with a Durable Water Resistant (DWR) coating, this bag is made to last. The bottom has a double layer of fabric that helps the pack stand up to the rocks and roots of Boundary Waters travel. Like all of our canoe packs, the No. 4 has ergonomic shoulder straps that curve away from your body to help avoid chafing. The optional waist belt can be excluded for simplicity, or included for more load management and comfort while hiking. You can also decide whether to include a sternum strap and load lifters to the shoulder straps. The sternum strap can be clipped across your chest and tightened to keep the straps from sliding outward and impairing the movement of your arms, and load lifters allow for the top of the bag to be pulled up and forward for a more stable center of gravity.
