Voyageur 2

Details

The Voyageur Pack series of bags follows a traditional canoe pack sizing system established and popularized by Camille Poirier in the late 1800s. The No. 2 is a no-nonsense, envelope-style bag almost indistinguishable from those that have served voyageurs in centuries past - aside from the addition of a few modern conveniences. At 2800 cubic inches (46 liters) this pack would be a good fit for a day trip or possibly solo overnight for an efficient packer. Inside you will find two pockets to help keep small items sperate from the main load and more readily accessable.

Made from a durable 1000 denier nylon treated with a Durable Water Resistant (DWR) coating, this bag is made to last. The bottom has a double layer of fabric that helps the pack stand up to the rocks and roots of Boundary Waters travel. Like all of our bags, the Voyageur Packs have ergonomic straps that curve away from your body to help avoid chafing. The optional waist belt can be excluded for simplicity, or included for more load management and comfort while hiking. You can also decide whether to include a sternum strap and load lifters to the shoulder straps. The sternum strap can be clipped across your chest and tightened to keep the straps from sliding outward and impairing the movement of your arms, and load lifters allow for the top of the bag to be pulled up and forward for a more stable center of gravity.
